Does Your Organization Support SB 100?
It’s time for Bay Area organizations to show their support for SB 100, a bill that’s incredibly important to achieving a just transition to the clean energy economy.
Many Bay Area organizations—environmental, environmental justice, social justice, faith, education, labor, business and community organizations—are urging our Assembly members and the Governor to pass SB 100 to accelerate the transition to 100% clean energy in California. Can you join us?
What will SB 100 do?
- SB 100 establishes an overall state target of 60% clean energy for California by 2030 and 100% by 2045. The bill has already passed the state Senate and is now awaiting action in the Assembly Committee on Utilities and Energy. The Legislature resumes its work in early January: a full Assembly floor vote on SB 100 is expected in January or February 2018.
- SB100 promotes the state’s climate change goals by reducing GHG emissions associated with electricity generation.
- SB 100 will improve air quality, boost our economy and green jobs, and provide the necessary market signals for additional clean energy investments and innovation in California and beyond.
- A recent state report shows that the state is on track to reach 50% clean energy by 2020 – a full 10 years earlier than planned! Let’s move on to 100%!
