350 Bay Area Action is pleased to endorse Doria Robinson for Richmond City Council again. Doria is a third-generation Richmond resident who brings deep roots, figuratively and literally, to her leadership. She grew up in the district, in a family grounded in faith and service, and then returned to raise her own children in the same community. And, as Executive Director of Urban Tilth, the literal roots she brings are turning vacant lots into thriving urban farms, creating green space, growing fresh food, and providing jobs and leadership opportunities for local residents—especially youth.
Her work connects climate solutions to everyday needs like food access, public health, and economic opportunity. She has also served on the California State Board of Food and Agriculture, helping to shape policy around sustainable and equitable food systems.
On the Richmond City Council, Doria has been a strong voice for holding polluters accountable and making sure Richmond communities benefit from investments tied to local industry. She has pushed for a “polluters pay” approach and helped secure the Chevron $550 million settlement for Richmond.
She’s also been clear about the urgent climate risks facing Richmond—from sea-level rise to aging infrastructure—and the need to prioritize frontline neighborhoods.
Looking ahead, Doria is focused on building a future beyond fossil fuels. Her vision includes investing in renewable energy, supporting small businesses and green jobs in tech and manufacturing, protecting the shoreline and a city-owned and -managed port, and expanding access to parks and open space. She consistently emphasizes that climate solutions should be community-led and should directly improve people’s lives.
