Our Democratic US Representatives and Senators aren’t doing everything they can to block extra-constitutional and illegal actions by the White House and his minions. We need to keep calling and insisting our elected officials do everything they can to halt the swift slide away from democracy.

No More Business as Usual: a Constitutional Crisis Demands a Fight

Our elected officials can use the rules to block the seizure of power. Extreme times call for Democrats to dig in, abandon the old rules of “comity,” and  fight with everything they have.

• Deny a Quorum: If Republicans don’t have 51 votes in the chamber, Democrats can walk out and shut down Senate business entirely.
• Block Unanimous Consent: Object to every procedural shortcut, forcing Republicans to take the longest possible route for every step of the confirmation process.
• Max Out Debate Time: Use all 30 hours of debate on Vought to expose Project 2025, Musk’s Treasury takeover, and the funding freeze.
• Delay and Disrupt: Force roll-call votes, quorum calls, and procedural delays to slow everything down.
• Present Unified Blanket Opposition: Democrats cannot continue to vote for Trump’s other nominees, helping to install more MAGA loyalists into powerful positions in the federal government while this power grab continues.

Let’s all contact our US Representative and Senators – one issue a day. Here are some ideas

• Use all procedural methods to stop the assaults on our democracy: Deny a quorum, block unanimous consent, Max out debate time, Use all procedural methods to delay progress, and step up in unified opposition to illegal, non constitutional actions  
• Make a criminal referral to stop Elon Musk’s escalating crime spree against the US.
• Block all of Trump’s nominees
• Block and nullify Trump’s proposed tariffs – make implementation impossible 
• Insist that the money that Congress has appropriated gets spent in the way that it was voted on
• Speak out against any mass deportation efforts, and other attempts to vilify immigrants 
• Oppose the wholesale illegal firing of Civil Service workers and reinforce the Civil Service system
• Demand a stop to the destruction of our rights and protections
• Demand clean air, water, and soil
• Demand our elected Democrats use their power, and use their access to the press to speak up every day

Please [for example, from list above] make a criminal referral to stop Elon Musk’s escalating crime spree against the US. We cannot allow illegal actions that threaten our democracy, and it’s time to use any and all tools at your disposal to stop them.
