350 Bay Area Action is pleased to endorse Noelia Corzo for re-election to the San Mateo Board of Supervisors District 2. The first ever Latina Supervisor for San Mateo, Noelia is dedicated to serving the community. In her community work she has worked with foster youth and people with disabilities, and has worked to support immigrant rights and affordable housing.
Noelia sits on the Bay Area Air Quality Management Board (BAAQMD), an essential point of influence for climate action in the Bay Area and beyond. At BAAQMD, she supported the No NOx 9-4 and 9-6 rules to phase out dirty gas appliances (with common sense equity provisions).
She also sits on the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, where she advocates for public transit. She supports SB63, which increases transit funding, on the November ballot (as do we).
Noelia states, “It is essential that low-income communities are not left behind in the transition and that our communities have access to resources and information”, and to this end she prioritizes multi-lingual outreach to make sure education and access reach English as a second language (ESL) residents.
Equity is important, and part of her vision includes expansion of low-cost and no-cost energy programs that can benefit renters.
We look forward to seeing Noelia on the San Mateo Board again, and her continuing work across the Bay Area in important transportation and air quality roles.
Noelia is running unopposed.
