MaryRuth Gross, who recently became Legislative Co-Chair for 350 BAA, is a retired union representative, organizer and activist. She moved to Richmond from San Francisco in 2012, just in time to see the millions of dollars that Chevron poured into trying (unsuccessfully!) to defeat the progressive slate that was running for City Council! She started her climate activism when she retired from union work, and the fight to end climate change got personal when her niece’s small family was evacuated during the Tubbs Fire Sonoma County in 2017. She also volunteers with Sustaining All Life/United to End Racism, an international climate justice group, and serves as the Member Engagement Chair of the Bay Area Chapter of the Climate Reality Project.
