Her record of service as Oakland City Council member and on the Bay Area Air Quality Management District board shows her strong commitment to climate action and environmental justice. Kaplan’s leadership has helped to bring about important victories for decarbonization and clean air in our communities, including the ban on coal handling and shipping at the Port of Oakland and numerous measures to expand clean energy and public transit in Oakland. We expect she will bring this courage and experience to a Supervisor’s seat.
