350 Bay Area Action is proud to endorse Kingsley Ma for San Bruno City Council, District 1. With Kingsley’s significant leadership experience as President of the Board of Education for San Bruno Park School District, we are confident that he understands how public policy is made and how cities can turn ambitious climate goals into strong actions. To improve people’s lives, he offers practical, equitable, and achievable climate solutions.

Kingsley strongly believes that moving off fossil fuels must work for renters and working families, not just homeowners who can afford solar panels and new EVs. He would make equity a requirement of every clean-energy policy. 

He opposes highway expansions that will add general-purpose or single-occupancy vehicle lane capacity, if all they’ll do is increase overall vehicle capacity—adding highway lanes has been proven to induce more driving rather than relieve congestion. Kingsley believes that we need to prioritize transit, carpooling, and other options. 

He also strongly believes that new building electrification rules need direct funding for renters and small landlords, so upgrades don’t turn into rent hikes or evictions. He would also involve low-income residents directly in shaping these programs, as no resident should have to choose between a lower carbon footprint and making rent.

Kingsley’s public policy experience, collaborative approach, and communication with the community make him the kind of leader San Bruno needs on its city council.
