350 Bay Area Action is proud to endorse Vicki Veenker for re-election to the Palo Alto City Council. Vicki has been a true climate champion—not only through her leadership on Palo Alto’s Climate Action & Sustainability Committee but also her service on the Bay Area Air District Board, where she currently serves as Vice Chair on the Policy, Grants & Technology Committee.
On the Palo Alto City Council, Vicki has helped advance policies to move the city toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. During her tenure, Palo Alto has expanded home electrification efforts, strengthened EV readiness, continued reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and invested in innovative approaches to climate resilience, including the Baylands living levee.
Vicki understands that climate action requires both local leadership and regional cooperation. Through her work on the Air District Board, she has helped address the interconnected challenges of air pollution, public health, and climate change across the Bay Area. In seeking reappointment to the Board, she specifically cited the co-benefits of cleaner air, improved public health, and climate action, as well as the increasing importance of addressing wildfire risk and other climate impacts.
We are particularly encouraged by Vicki’s continued commitment to building electrification, transportation electrification, grid modernization, biodiversity, and a healthy tree canopy. She has demonstrated that climate leadership means turning ambitious goals into concrete programs and policies that benefit the community.
State Senator Josh Becker, Congressman Sam Liccardo, and former State Senator Joe Simitian—all of whom were endorsed by 350 BAA in the past—have endorsed Vicki. Former Congresswoman Anna Eshoo has also endorsed Vicki.
Vicki has shown consistent, effective leadership on climate and clean air at both the city and regional levels, and we look forward to seeing her return to Palo Alto’s city council.
