350 Bay Area Action is proud to endorse incumbent Dr. Rod Daus-Magbual for his re-election to the City Council for Daly City. For the three seats up for election in Daly City, there are seven candidates, including incumbents and challengers. Dr. Rod is the only one of the seven that is being endorsed by 350 Bay Area Action.
With Dr. Rod’s many years of leadership experience in Daly City, we are confident that he understands and supports development of public policy to forcibly help the environment, as he says on his website. Climate action and social justice are important and, we believe, interrelated.
Dr. Rod’s vision is for Daly City to be a leader in a just transition to clean, reliable, and affordable energy. He recognizes that local government has a critical role to play in making climate action practical, equitable, and achievable for everyone.
As mayor of Daly City in 2022 and 2025, he was a strong proponent of C.L.E.A.N. Daly City—Clean, Livable Environment and Neighborhoods. It combines education, engagement, enforcement, and eradication of environmental concerns.
Social justice is key in such an ethnically diverse city as Daly City. Dr. Rod has demonstrated this deep commitment in his community, and in his profession as a founding teacher in the Ethnic Studies department of Skyline College.
