Marisol Rubio is a neurobiologist who became active in health care issues when her infant daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Rubio researched treatments that contributed to her daughter’s recovery. 

As a member of the San Ramon City Council since 2022, she initiated the first San Ramon City Council Climate Action Ad Hoc Committee, working to establish a climate action city department and a committee to help inform our Climate Action Plan.

Marisol has also served on the Sierra Club Executive Board and the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council, developing policies to help workers transition to green jobs. Rubio has emerged as a powerful climate leader.
