Bay Area 350 Action is pleased to endorse Ben Ford for Cotati City Council. Ben is a thoughtful, seasoned leader who grasps technical climate solutions, but emphasizes creating social and community change that large-scale draw-down requires. 

He has served Cotati in many ways, including as a planning commissioner and member of the bike-pedestrian advisory committee. As a Council member, he:

• Served on Sonoma Clean Power’s board and supported piloting geothermal electricity generation
• Protected our water as part of the Russian River Watershed Association, and by doing city-led creek cleanups
• Worked on making Cotati a more bike and pedestrian friendly city
• Showed constituents how to decarbonize on a personal level, at home, while promoting smaller, more efficient housing
• Helped ban new gas stations in Sonoma County 

Ben intends to continue working to protect the environment and support a vibrant and inclusive Cotati with clean air, bike and pedestrian access, and workforce housing at the full range of Cotati’s residents. to work on new initiatives:

• Pushing garbage truck contractors to make EVs their norm
• Building methane-free housing and exploring ways to go all-electric
• Seeking Inflation Reduction Act funds for emergency cooling centers, fire evacuation areas, and other climate disasters
