El Cerrito City Council At-Large Candidate William Ktsanes

350 Bay Area Action is excited to endorse William Ktsanes for an at-large seat on the El Cerrito City Council. William teaches graduate-level finance at the University of San Francisco, where he incorporates environmental ethics into his financial ethics course. With Masters degrees in both financial analysis and public administration, William brings sound financial and budget acumen to accompany his passion for social and environmental protection. He sees climate change as our greatest societal threat. On the El Cerrito Finance Board, he pushed for, drafted and helped pass the No Fossil Fuel Investment policy. 

WIlliam promotes LEED construction (green building standards) and is involved with the US Green Building Council. While in graduate school, he became a member of the Building Council’s first Emerging Professionals program. 

William regularly takes service trips to Thailand, where he adopted his son (he is a single dad), and the two of them recently engaged in a reforestation effort in a mountain area in northern Thailand.
