350 Bay Area Action is happy to endorse Gina Dawson for re-election to Lafayette’s city council. Gina’s experience in the business world and in nonprofits gives her a wide range of skills for the job. In her first four years, Gina passed the gas leaf blower ban, worked on gas pipeline safety, founded a nonprofit to save heritage trees (while improving gas line safety), served on the Marin Clean Energy board, and served with RecycleSmart, where she is the current chair.
Environmental sustainability is a priority for Gina, as she thinks about what makes a thriving Lafayette.
In her next term, some or her priorities will include:
- Implementation of the city’s Environmental Action Plan and support of the Environmental Task Force in the service of such implementation,
- Electrification and electric vehicle infrastructure, and
- Effective methods to move the community to renewable energy.
Gina has been in California all her life and in Lafayette for the last 16 years, where she’s raised two children.
