One of Stephanie Andre’s proudest moments as Larkspur’s Mayor was cutting the ribbon at the city’s new public library earlier this year.  “I’m especially proud of how I spearheaded the public campaign to incorporate sustainability features at the library,” including solar panels on the roof, EV chargers in the parking lot, automated windows for passive cooling, and a native habitat garden.

As a candidate for reelection to the City Council, Stephanie is committed to continuing Larkspur’s push for sustainability and climate action, by advocating for true renewable energy at an affordable price for ratepayers. Noting that the majority of the city’s greenhouse gas emissions are attributable to transportation and the built environment, her focus has been on:

• Advocating for high-density residential development near transit centers;
• Adopting Tier 1 CalGreen and Reach codes to accelerate green building standards; and
• Incentivizing the shift to electrical appliances in building codes.

Stephanie took the lead on the creation of the Climate Action Forum in 2025, a residents’ advisory body that has played a critical role in proposing climate policies, vetting proposals, and generating community feedback. 

With a background in corporate finance and investment banking, Stephanie knows that a strong local economy is fundamental to progress on climate issues, and she will continue the fight to reduce waste, expand local revenue, and provide fiscal transparency and accountability.
