Napa County Wildfire Preparedness, Watershed Protection and Open Space Preservation Act.

Vote Yes on Napa County Wildfire Preparedness, Watershed Protection and Open Space Preservation Act on the June Ballot

The Napa County Wildfire Preparedness, Watershed Protection and Open Space Preservation Act is a citizens’ initiative that would add a half-cent, countywide sales tax to raise money for open space, parks, watershed protection and wildfire preparation and resiliency.

If approved, it would raise $23 million annually for 18 years, creating a stable source of funding to mitigate wildfire risks, and conserve clean water and open space.

While at 350 Bay Area Action we often focus on emissions reductions to stop climate change, rather than climate resiliency to deal with its after-effects, wildfires challenge us on both levels, creating greenhouse gas emissions and social and economic distress. Ensuring Napa has a dependable source of funds to help stave off catastrophic fires, and funds to enhance and preserve our regional parks with all their benefits, is a clear Yes for us.

Please Vote Yes.
