Pablo Benavente will help Concord move ahead on pressing issues like addressing the climate crisis and fostering a thriving local economy. Looking at these issues through the lens of environmental and economic justice, he will bring a fresh perspective that’s badly needed.

Pablo has a history of working for social justice in both his personal and professional lives. His volunteer work with Monument Impact, including a stint as board chair—and his employment with SEIU and IFPTE Local 21—show his commitment to workers and marginalized communities.

His vision for Concord’s transition to renewable energy includes promoting public transportation, installing more EV charging stations, and increasing incentives for going solar. To make sure lower-income communities are not left behind, he supports programs that would alleviate the financial burden of transitioning away from fossil fuels for low-income households. He also prioritizes training in green energy jobs for workers in these communities.
