350 Bay Area Action endorses Maureen Toms for re-election to the Pinole City Council. Maureen is a land-use planner with over 30 years’ experience as well as ample experience volunteering in the community (Association of Bay Area Governments, West Contra Costa Unified School District Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee, and Special Olympics, to name a few).  

While on council, Maureen has been hard at work in Pinole, helping to draft the Climate Action Plan, championing a climate emergency resolution, and supporting Pinole’s joining Marin Clean Energy (MCE), thus allowing people to move away from sole dependence on PG&E. She also understands that passing the Climate Action Plan is step one, and the work of implementation will be ongoing and require dedication.

Maureen is making her own transition and walking her talk. She’s planted drought-resistant native plants and added solar and battery storage to her home, among other climate changes.
