350 Bay Area Action is pleased to endorse Shanelle Scales-Preston for Contra Costa Board of Supervisors. She served six years on the Pittsburg City Council, and has served as chair of the board of Marin Clean Energy (MCE) as well as TransPlan, working on East County transportation. Climate priorities include continuing work on transportation, including accessibility for auto-free options, clean energy, and workforce development.

Coming from a working-class background, Shanelle places value on a strong and resilient local economy, local hiring for energy projects, and a just transition for workers.

On the board of MCE, she worked to bring access to clean energy technology for everyone. She believes that taking into consideration low-income communities in our transition is not only fair, it is essential, and it supports not only those communities but also the whole economy and ecology.
