350 Bay Area Action is happy to endorse Vinnie Bacon for mayor of Fremont. A long-time environmentalist working in leadership with the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the SIerra Club, and a transportation engineer and city planner by training, Vinnie’s work as an engineer has included preparing environmental impact and traffic impact reports.

Winning this election would mark Vinnie’s return to the City of Fremont, having first been elected to the City Council in 2012, then leaving to run for Board of Supervisors in 202). While on the council, Vinnie worked on making Fremont a more affordable, sustainable, walkable city, supported a more bikeable community, and championed solar-friendly building design. 

Vinnie was also on many regional environmental boards. (These boards are a critical way for local officials to participate in important regional decisions; decisions which either move the dial in the right direction on climate, or prevent needed change.)  

Some organizations Vinnie has been involved in include: East Bay Clean Energy; Stop Waste; the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority; and the Liaison Committee to the East Bay Regional Park District.
