Mountain View City Council At-Large Candidate Emily Ann Ramos

Emily is a current council member seeking reelection in Mountain View. Her professional background is in housing affordability with SV@Home, which works with community partners to address the urgent housing challenge.

She has engaged on multiple levels to advance solutions to climate change. This includes working with advocates to ensure candidates for public office do not accept fossil fuel money and drafting a local Green New Deal. Emily advocates for climate resilience and mitigation through measures such as baylands restoration, tree planting, active transportation, electrification, and public transit improvements.

She supports a phase-out of all natural gas use as soon as possible, through decarbonization reach codes and the Air Quality Management District’s “no NOx” rules, to move away from polluting methane gas combustion to cleaner, healthier appliances in buildings. Emily has the support of numerous senior leaders, including environmental champions such as State Senator Josh Becker and County Supervisor Joe Simitian.
