Sunnyvale District 6 At-Large Candidate My Lan "Eileen" Le

My Lan “Eileen” Le is a challenger for an open seat on the Sunnyvale City Council. She serves on the Sunnyvale School Board as well as the board of Sunnyvale Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports enrichment for students in all schools in the Sunnyvale School District. At Lakewood Elementary, she was a lead garden volunteer, planting a pollinator garden and food in a food desert.

Eileen has a number of priorities for the Council, including:

  • Safe and equitable bike lane access and walkable neighborhoods,
  • Expanded VTA service in North Sunnyvale, and
  • Deliberate outreach to multifamily residence and apartment owners to help them learn more about the rebates offered by Silicon Valley Clean Energy towards electric water heaters as an alternative to natural gas heaters.

She supports a phase-out of all natural gas use as soon as possible, including building decarbonization reach codes and the Air Quality Management District’s “zero NOx” policy to phase out polluting methane gas appliances. In addition, she aims to direct funds toward green infrastructure projects, such as expanding public transit, retrofitting buildings for energy efficiency, and investing in renewable energy sources like solar and wind.
